PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assemble all products (standard & non- standard) as per drawings, routings and BOMs inclusive of ‘in process’ quality checks.
  • To work with and advise the Leading Hand /Supervisor of any discrepancies of pump components that are not of quality standard, not in the BOM or not readily available for projected orders.
  • To work with and advise the Leading Hand/Supervisor of any product defect identified in the product building area during assembly.
  • To fill in all relevant paperwork relating to the shop order, traceability, quality, or customer requirements.
  • Provides recommendations and measures to improve product assembly methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • To display a level of professionalism that provides the platform for a positive working environment.
  • Comply to all company policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and play an active role in NOV OHS processes and systems and legislative compliance.
  • Perform such other duties, relevant to the position, as may be necessary.
  • Promote a process of continuous improvement across all team members.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings & technical instructions.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools specific to mechanical fitting.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and components, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Relevant technical certifications or trade qualifications in mechanical fitting or a related field.
  • Be a qualified and experienced tradesman.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Be experienced in pump troubleshooting/problem solving & fault finding.
  • Proven experience in the assembly of hydraulic and/or pneumatic equipment.
