Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor the power plants controls and power distribution and consumption ensuring power is available at all times.

• Perform troubleshooting, problem solving and plan activities to prevent problems from occurring with the power plant, propulsion plant and auxiliary equipment on the vessel. This will include the sewage treatment plant, HVAC, potable water, pneumatic systems, etc.

• Operate, troubleshoot, maintain and repair as necessary the engine cooling water system, lube oil system and fuel system.

• Ensure all work including that of 3rd parties is carried out in accordance with Company Procedures and Standards e.g. Permit to Work System, etc.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and special projects involving the power plant and propulsion system on board the drilling vessel to prevent down time to ensure the efficient and continual functioning of the vessel.

• Carry out maintenance routines under the CMM.

• Ensure that reports for the repair and maintenance of equipment are accurate and complete.

•Liaise with the marine department regarding the loading, ordering and use of fuel, potable water and drill water.

• Perform daily inspections on E/R equipment and machineries Maintain main engine log recording daily consumption.

• General housekeeping duties in the engine room.

• Perform in an emergency role as defined by the Company’s Emergency Response.

• K26Procedures Manual and Installation Bill.

• Be fully conversant with the Facility Emergency Response Plan and his role within this plan, and is always prepared for such eventuality.

• Ensure that he has knowledge of safety requirements, including work permit systems, operational and emergency procedures, Company policy and instructions, and ensure he is aware of, and understand them.

• Attend all required HSE Mandatory training contained within the FPSO Operations ProPass program as detailed in the Training Matrix.

• Liaises closely with the E/R Supervisor on technical and other operation and maintenance matters in the Engine Room.

• Consults periodically with the members of the Maintenance team on E/R systems day-to-day maintenance activities.

 

Job Requirements:

• Five (5) year experience in an offshore oil & gas environment preferably on a FPSO and 2 year experience gained in the capacity of Engine Room Operator.

• Relevant operating experience on an offshore facility and detailed knowledge of utilities, tanker operations and maintenance.

• Experience in the operation and maintenance of utilities/engine room equipment/auxiliaries.

• Experience with Safety Management System and Computerized Maintenance Management System.

• Strong personal and interpersonal skills.

Higher National Diploma / Diploma level in Marine/Mechanical Engineering or other relevant qualification.

•4th Engineer Certificate of Competency (CoC) or equivalent Offshore Medical

•BOSIET / BOSIET-T as applicable.
