Responsibilities
Essential requirements for this role:
- Ensuring the security of company assets by operating in a safe and efficient manner
- Assist the operations team in mentoring national employees in the competency assurance and training program
- Assist the operations team in maximization of oil and gas production in line with company targets and completion of the daily production report
- Compliance with the Safety Management System
- Assist the operations team in the monitoring, control and reaction to the process control, emergency shutdown and Fire and Gas System
- Perform the day-to-day outside duties to maintain a safe and environmentally sound operation of the assigned process facilities or area
- Perform the day to day outside operational changes and or corrections as called upon by the Lead Operator / Production Supervisor
- Be responsible for the outside day-to-day safe and sound operation of assigned process and process-utilities, and other responsibilities
- Be responsible for isolating and preparing equipment for the first line maintenance technicians of process and process utilities as called upon
- Detect, identify and react to abnormal conditions that might develop into emergency situations
- Ensures continuous operation of the asset. Carries out routine checks of asset operating conditions in accordance with set schedules. Includes taking samples, recording readings, checking running condition of equipment, etc
- Monitors asset operations on site. Includes adjusting local set points and gauges to accommodate fluctuations in operations. Reports abnormalities to the lead operator or supervisor as required
- Opens and shuts various valves manually. Starts and stops pumps and rotating equipment in accordance with set procedures and supervisors or lead operators instructions
- Carries out minor maintenance and housekeeping duties as required. Includes greasing, cleaning, and replacing minor parts on platform equipment
- Assists the lead production operator when required.
- Perform various laboratory tests as required
- Calculates various well tests/conditions to determine well parameters such as gas production, gas and condensate ratios, etc. Ensures the wells are flowing at optimal levels.
- Performs daily, weekly, and monthly routine activities regarding the wells and associated equipment
- Co-ordination of fluid sampling on the hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems, and analysis in the laboratory by the Laboratory Technician
- Control and monitoring of the production chemistry
- Solving operational problems fully utilizing the planned maintenance system
- Participation in risk assessments when appropriate
- Control and monitoring of hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems
- Take appropriate action as directed in the event of process and utility system alarms and trips
- Monitoring and recording of key parameters for hydrocarbon process plant and utility systems
- It is desirable but not mandatory for the prospective employee to have experience in Process Safety Management activities. Candidate will be expected to participate in Process Safety
- Management activities that involve process design, process technology, operational and maintenance activities and procedures, non-routine activities and procedures, emergency preparedness plans and procedures, training programs, and other elements which could impact the process.
