Reach Subsea is a global leader in remote and autonomous marine services. As part of our pioneering Reach Remote program, we are seeking an experienced and capable Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) Master to join our team as we establish a permanent presence in Australia.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the operation of next-generation autonomous vessels delivering Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) and survey services in a safer, cleaner, and more efficient way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the designated Master of a class-leading Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV), responsible for its safe operation and compliance at all times
- Oversee remote navigation, dynamic positioning (DP) operations, and automated control systems from the Remote Operations Centre (ROC)
- Monitor vessel performance, system health, and mission execution in collaboration with onshore and offshore teams
- Manage all documentation and reporting in accordance with regulatory and company requirements
- Ensure vessel compliance with AMSA and international maritime regulations
- Coordinate with project teams and clients to ensure effective delivery of operational scopes
- Contribute to continuous improvement and risk management in unmanned operations
Requirements:
- Certificate of Competency (Master <500GT, Master Unlimited, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in DP operations, preferably on survey, ROV, or IMR vessels
- Strong understanding of COLREGS, navigation systems, and vessel handling
- Familiarity with AMSA, NSCV and ISM Code requirements
- Previous experience with remote or autonomous maritime systems highly regarded
- Ability to operate in a remote control room environment with high situational awareness
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Australian working rights or ability to obtain necessary work permits
