Welding Engineer

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or Materials Science
• 5+ years of welding engineering experience in oil & gas industry
• Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent preferred
• Proficient in welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and NDT methods
• Knowledge of ASME, AWS, and API standards

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain Procedure Qualification Records (PQR)
• Coordinate and oversee NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) activities including UT, RT, MT, and PT for welding inspections
• Conduct welding inspections and ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API, and project specifications
• Review welding documentation, including welder qualifications, material certificates, and inspection reports
• Identify welding non-conformances, raise NCRs, and implement corrective actions
• Liaise with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and fabrication teams to ensure quality compliance
• Provide technical support to welding teams and ensure adherence to approved procedures
