We are seeking an experienced Chief Officer / SDPO (Senior Dynamic Positioning Operator) to join our offshore international fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe navigation, cargo, and deck operations of the vessel, with a strong focus on supporting crane subsea lifting operations, ROV operations, and subsea construction activities. This is a senior officer position requiring proven offshore experience and strong leadership capability.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
Act as Senior DPO, maintaining safe and precise vessel positioning during subsea crane lifts, ROV launch/recovery, and subsea construction operations
Assist the Master in overall vessel navigation, safety, and regulatory compliance
Plan and coordinate deck operations related to subsea equipment handling, including cranes, ROV’s, A-frames, and winches
Liaise closely with the ROV, survey, and construction teams to ensure seamless integration of marine and subsea operations
Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work processes for deck and crane operations
Oversee cargo operations, stability calculations, and loading/discharge plans
Supervise and mentor junior deck officers and ratings
Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, and client-specific HSE requirements
Participate in emergency response drills and act as a key member of the vessel’s emergency response team
Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports in accordance with company and flag state requirements
Qualifications
Education /Training: The Chief Officer shall be qualified in accordance with STCW 95 Regulation 11/2. In possession of valid DP license.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years’ sea-going experience as Chief Officer on IMR / subsea construction / offshore support vessel
Proven experience supporting Crane subsea operations, ROV operations, and subsea construction activities.
Experience with vessels equipped with AHC KBC.
